Part Liberace, part ultimate swerve, and 100% out there in the best way possible.
Who doesn’t put in a little more effort on their birthday? Maybe you slip on a nice sweater, like Ryan Reynolds. Maybe it’s a cool velvet blazer, like Drake. For Offset of Migos, a birthday calls for diamonds—a lot of them. The rapper celebrated his 26th in Los Angeles earlier this week and wore a fit that would make Prince proud; leather pants, diamond YSL shirt from the women’s collection, and stacks upon stacks of bling-ed out jewelry. We’re talking diamond rings on every finger, watches on both wrists, and multiple necklaces. Couple that with the fact that he was arm and arm with his new fiancé, Cardi B, who herself was bedecked in sparkle, and you’ve got birthday style for the history books. We probably don’t need to tell you that the party was star-studded and completely over the top—there was both a full-size Bentley ice sculpture and a custom Rolls Royce Wraith waiting for Offset outside (a gift from Cardi B).
Now, we know that most guys out there can’t and won’t dress like this on their birthday night, which is fair. Offset is a 20-something rapper living his best life so he’s got his own thing going on. But, there’s a way to look this cool without spending millions on jewelry. Simply stick to the same black and silver color palette and incorporate one—just one!—element with a little bit of Offset-worthy shine to it in order to turn the volume up a notch. A designer bomber jacket or pair of killer dress shoes is a very cool investment—especially if you manage to cop the item on sale. If you want to stick to something that’s under $100, stores like Zara and Topman have ’70s style disco shirts that would amp your black pants or slim black suit right up.
